New research by Capital One shows that 45% of employees fail to claim back their expenses despite the fact that half of employees use their own cash or credit cards to settle expenses, and spend an average of £367 a year doing so.

Ceredigion CC appoints Logica to comply with new requirements

Ceredigion County Council in mid-west Wales has appointed Logica to replace its legacy payroll system. The Council approached Logica as it urgently needed to replace its payroll system with a structure that was compliant with the HMRC Real Time Information (RTI) system for reporting pay, tax, National Insurance and other details. RTI becomes mandatory in 2013.

Survey by Anoto finds paperless office still out of reach

Two-thirds of businesses regularly need to scan more than 50 pages a day to transfer information to a digital format

Anoto, the creator of digital pen and paper technology, conducted a survey across the US and the UK focusing on the state of scanning. Businesses both large and small were surveyed and found to have significant scanning requirements due to a continued reliance on paper. Some of the major reasons for this include the need to keep an electronic record (71%) and because the data is easier to work with in digital form (55%).
