Report highlights need for comprehensive risk analysis

A survey carried out by 4C Associates, a leading cost transformation consultancy, has revealed that 65 per cent of finance leaders consider volatile prices the main risk for 2013. Supply and reputational risk were selected by 19 and 16 per cent of respondents.

The CFO Survey was carried out amongst attendees of The Economist's CFO Summit 2013. More than 100 finance leaders attended the event to discuss issues affecting the role of the CFO.

Councils - a key target for invoice fraud

The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) has identified local authorities as a key target for fraudsters. Amongst its recommendations to combat the situation, it says that councils should build on and maintain regular contact with trusted suppliers and monitor invoice irregularities more closely if they are to effectively tackle scams.

A new survey by OB10 and sharedserviceslink.com, has uncovered the full impact invoice exceptions has on global businesses. Often seen as an inevitable by-product of the AP process, a through examination of the reasons why exceptions happen and what can be done to move towards straight-through processing for all invoices is all too frequently a path less followed. And yet in this international survey of more than 200 professionals, 85% agree that eliminating exceptions would be one of the most effective ways to cut costs for Accounts Payable.

Kofax land major new $1m deal

A major global agricultural products manufacturer has invested approximately $1 million in Kofax software and services to automate its accounts payable processes. The customer will use Kofax software to automate the processing of more than 300,000 invoices annually. A key requirement for the customer was the ability to integrate with both SAP and IBM Maximo ERP systems.
