According to research from ICM Research carried out before Christmas 2012 - the ‘Mobile Wallet’ is very unlikely to take off this year. The research reveals a short fall in consumer take-up that is due to; lack of retailer support, consumer security concerns, lack of in-store promotion and device limitations.

As reported in The Guardian, local authorities have yet again been given a tough financial settlement, a further reduction of 1.7%. Rather than looking at a reduction in frontline services, much of the savings could be made by taking a closer look at operational efficiencies - such as an improved procurement process and making better use of shared services for example.

In a contract valued at more than half a million dollars, Direct Insite, a US provider of cloud-based e-invoicing services for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payments automation, has been selected by a US grocery retailer for its Invoices On-Line e-invoicing AP portal.
Under the agreement, the customer will use Direct Insite’s e-invoicing AP portal to provide suppliers with self-service access to invoice and payment status. The portal will integrate directly with the customer’s ERP system. |

Thursday 27th December, 2012 From 1st January 2013, new EU VAT rules enter into effect, which will make life much simpler for businesses across Europe.
First, electronic invoicing will have to be treated the same as paper invoicing, enabling companies to choose the VAT invoicing solution that works best for them. This has the potential to save businesses up to €18 billion a year in reduced administration costs.
