Second arrest in fraud investigation at Duncan Bannatyne's firm

Friday 19th December 2014

A second arrest has been made in the investigation into the serious fraud at Duncan Bannatyne's Darlington based firm.

Former Chief Executive and Managing Director, Graham Armstrong, 43 has been arrested in the multi-million pound fraud investigation. The company stated that Mr Armstrong had been suspended some time ago, following the company's own investigations.

Last week, Finance Director Christopher Watson was arrested in the same investigation.

Started by the Dragon's Den entrepreneur in 1996, the company owns a string of hotels and health clubs across the country.

A spokesman from the Durham Constabulary said: "We can confirm a 43-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, December 17 on suspicion of fraud. The investigation involves an alleged multi-million pound fraud on a Darlington-based business."
