Friday 6th February, 2015 Tate & Lyle has been shortlisted for Shared Services Firm of the Year at the Polish Business CEE Outsourcing and Shared Services Awards. The third annual awards, which took place in Warsaw last night, recognise excellence throughout the shared services sector. Tate & Lyle was nominated for the efficiency and innovation of its global shared service centre, located in Lodz, Poland. The centre employs 200 people and is responsible for handling the company’s financial transactional activities and processes, managed through the BlackLine Account Reconciliation solution. Barbara Blaszczyk, head of finance operations at Tate & Lyle, Lodz, says “Before we implemented BlackLine, we were conducting all our financial processes via spreadsheets, which was incredibly time-consuming and difficult to monitor. We chose BlackLine to support us in these processes because it was easy to use and able to integrate with our existing SAP systems”.Tate & Lyle began working with BlackLine in early 2014 and, following two months’ of implementation, saw significant improvements in the efficiency of its accounting processes, allowing Tate & Lyle’s finance team to gain control over the entire balance sheet reconciliation process. Blaszczyk continues: “BlackLine’s excellent service and constant support has resulted in happier and more productive teams, in addition to faster, more accurate accounting processes. We are delighted to have been recognised by Polish Business – it’s a testament to the hard work of both our accounts team and BlackLine”.
