Friday 13th March, 2015 Next’s Finance Director, David Keens and Dixons Carphone CFO Humphrey Singer, picked up the big awards at the Business Finance Awards in London this week. Keens was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his achievements with Next over nearly 30 years. During that time the company went from being on the brink of collapse to rise again as a top performer, currently with a market capitalisation of £11.5bn. The award are organised by Financial Director, and Editor Kevin Reed said that Keens is "an unassuming character who, along with along with other Next board members, have let their results do the talking". "A constant focus on cash management and return on capital have helped drive Next to enormous success in what are extremely tough times for retailers. David sits at the heart of that success." Humphrey Singer picked up the FTSE 100 FD of the Year, after helping convince investors about the benefits of a Dixons and Carphone Warehouse merger to create a £10bn business with 40,000 employees.
