Intuit acquire team behind Facebook's e-commerce platform

The Facebook e-commerce platform, Payvment has announced that its going to be closing its doors next month and transitioning its 200,000 merchants to arch rival, Russian based Ecwid.

The US provider of business and financial management services, Intuit has acquired Payvment's team, technology and patents. Techcrunch says that it could be "a very smart play as Payvment could help make it easy for Intuit’s small businesses finance suite customers to launch storefronts on social properties like Facebook. Intuit could potentially start letting its customers buy Facebook ads for their businesses through Payvment’s technology."

In recent news, Intuit announced a partnership with e-invoicing and data exchange company, Tradeshift connecting the five million users of their Quickbooks application with the Tradeshift platform.
