Intel & MasterCard join forces to simplify on-line payments

Intel Corporation and MasterCard Inc. have joined in partnership to extend the security and consumer payment experience for online shopping.

The two companies are working together over the next couple of years to optimise a variety of emerging payments technologies, including MasterCard’s PayPass® (’tap and go’ technology) and Intel® Identity Protection Technology (online security against malware).

Fake invoices net fraudster almost £500,000

A bankrupt Scottish printer, who admitted faking invoices to steal nearly £500,000 in VAT refunds, has been jailed after an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The 63 year old man from Rothesay, was arrested after he inflated his claims by giving false invoices and receipts to his accountant and HMRC.

Fraudsters hiding in plain sight with outside help

According to the latest study by KPMG International Profile of a Fraudster culprits are predominantly an employee colluding with others outside the organisation. The report finds that in these turbulent economic times, businesses and investors alike should be aware that fraudsters can come in all shapes and sizes. Most commonly, they are employed by the victim organisation (61 percent).
